— A glimpse

Built into the
hillside, not over it.

Baan Talay is a small resort on the quiet south-east of Koh Tao, gathered along the slope above Aow Leuk Bay. Paths wind between the trees rather than through them; rooms sit where the land allowed.

The best way to understand it is to see it. What follows is mostly pictures — the grounds, the shala at first light, the reef two minutes downhill. Words only where they help.

The Shala

"The shala faces the water. At six in the morning the light comes in low and the bay is completely still."

— The practice space

An open-air shala
above the bay.

The yoga shala is the heart of the resort — a raised, open-sided deck looking straight out over the water. Morning practice, breathwork, sound, and stillness all happen here.

It's used for daily classes, retreats, and the occasional evening ceremony. When nothing is scheduled, it's simply a quiet place to sit.

Come and see it.

Five rooms, one shala, and a reef at the bottom of the hill. Reserve a stay, or look through the rooms first.
